How about the all time classic:

I'm an hour late because I forgot to reset my clock for Daylight Savings Time.

I've never actually used that but I know a few people who have

I've been called in to work when I wasn't scheduled and told them that I couldn't come in because I was too drunk to drive. First time they sent somebody to come pick me up, apparently they didn't think I was really that drunk. Second time I tried it, I was in the Navy and they let me stay home.

I'm sure it happens to someone, somewhere every spring. Have you ever been to work an hour early in the fall?

hey rose.

just the last drive through for tonight. An hour early? sounds like a stop for bacon and eggs.
