I had a horrible experience with Lube Stop a few years back with my 96 Sable.

Took it into Lube stop just for an oil change. Paid the guy, left, 10 miles down the highway going home, oil light came on last minute, and engine locked up on me on the highway! Smoking up a storm when I pulled over on the shoulder.

Lube stop somehow didn't tighten the drain plug all the way and shot the drain plug out as I was driving spilling all my oil on the highway until the engine locked up.

Lube stop paid for a used engine to put in my car. Had 40K on that engine VS 90K I had on the car at the time.

No, I have not. I will keep them in mind. I have used Johnny B. Quick a lot before I got the Ford. He always did a good job, just a little pricey, but most of them are. I used to change the air filter and cabin filter on the Silverado myself. I can get an oil change and tire rotation at County Line Ford for what Johnny gets for the oil change.

oh ok..My mom went to them once when they first opened. Is that the Valvoline place?? They overfilled the car and she got a leak after that. So, they decided that going into town and using Burleson Carwash was worth the time..never had any problems.. Now, I aint saying you wont, but I never had.

yeah Brake and Muffler shop is HORRIBLE!!! my aunt went to get a brake job there. They forgot to tighten the brake bleeder valve and she ended up slamming into the back of someone because the pedal went to the floor...DOH!!!

Ouch! and yes, the Valvoline place. I never had a problem except with prices and I am "tight" so I have problems with prices at lots of places.

The Brake and Muffler Shop charged me too much for duals on the Silverado, then messed up a front end alignment so bad that I would not let them redo it. I paid for it again at the Chevy house.

Since I can not be with my truck at the dealer, I always check my oil before I drive off. I also check to see my tires were rotated. I am doing this right in front of the service manager, he just smiles, never has said a thing.
I won't go to any place unless I am allowed to be in the shop. I realize the liability risk etc etc.
If they'll just allow me be in the shop, then I don't mind and probably won't go unless there is a problem they want to show me. But if they tell me I can't... If I decide to continue, then I'll be sweating bullets for a week or so afterwards. I'll always wonder... "Did they do the job? Or did they just pull it in the bay, sit in front of it and drink a few beer then tell me it's done?"
