Bad storms in the Midwest...anyone affected?

There were probably more than 121 total, but only 121 tornados actually registered on radar or confirmed by trained spotters to be recognized by the NWS. Probably 1/2 the high wind reports were unidentified tornados but since radar nor spooter seen it then it is classified as high straight line winds.
Again those are only reports, after all the analysis of the reports the news last night said a total of 14 tornados came out of that system in the KC area and East.

Here's a link to the compiled analysis. This only shows a portion of the affected areas, but comparing the area available below to the report map above, it's easy to see many of those reports were of the same tornado.

But as you said, since there were no spotters to confirm radar observations, there were probably more unconfirmed tornados.
