I was up till 3 oclock this morning storm watching. (yea)

I love storms, wife and kids would not go to sleep unless someone kept vidgual (sp?). They hit every where around me, I didn't get any hail, but alot of extremely high wind. At one point I did think a twister had put it's sites on me it was so bad for so long. Not the normal 5 second gust. But it was 2 miles north of me. (Phew)

They were showing softball size hail on the emergency news broadcasts all night. Then they changed it to cell phone size hail!?! Whose cell phone? Those blackberry's are pretty stinking big!

Worthless info for jamz....
It was 80º degrees on the surface. To create softball size hail it would require atleast 100 mph updrafts with the conditions as they were at that time.

Storm chaser? I love storms. Day or night, it doesn't matter, I grab a camera or two and head for the hills. The wife gets mad cause I leave her home alone, like I am going to be able to protect her from a tornado anyway.

You can bet I was outside with the camera for about 2 hours, didn't catch anything but a few after flashes. No bolts yet.
My elusive lightning streak shot has evaded me again.
There was to much light pollution from pole lights and storm chasers spot lights for me to hold the shutter open.
As soon as the lightning started reaching for the ground and I could hear it hitting close by, I went back inside. Guess I don't want that shot that bad after all. LOL

Dream shot for me would be a tornado at night, illuminated by lightning. As long as I walked away afterwards to show it.

I'd still hang out for a few minutes a day. There is a wealth of information on these forums and I've managed to credit myself with 293 posts Not really sure how that happened!!

No GD would be so sad though, I'm with Lees, we'd just have to seize control of an unused forum, heck everything else gets hijacked around here
