Question Why do I need to know the science......

Why do I need to know the science of everything?

For me to understand "things" (huge list of "things"), I am the type of person that needs to know how it works, why it works, basically, the science.

For example,

Thunderstorms are one of the most common and most noticeable weather products of our atmosphere. They form worldwide, spit out deadly lightning, band together to form hurricanes, and can spin up the world's fastest winds inside tornadoes.

To me, that is interesting, but I cant just read that and be happy, I have to know the Science of a Thunderstorm. What makes it happen, what causes hail, lightning, the winds, how is a tornado formed, rain, etc? This is just an example of many things I wonder about, and what makes it so.

Why am I this way, and is there anyone else that thinks like this?

Healthy intellectual curiosity. It's a good thing, IMHO.

I don't know why you are like that.
If someone asks me something, I just make stuff up.

I agree, but I cant understand things unless it's explained to me on a scientific level.

It pretty much is all caused by 2 fronts cold/warm coming together. I visited the Tornado/Thunderstorm lab in Norman Oklahoma about 30 years ago and it was pretty interesting. They even had an aircraft there (Texan?) that had weather equipment in it and had a modified airframe that allowed the pilot to go into severe storms. The aircraft was littered with dents from hail.

Got nothing better to do and wanna take a drive someday to cure your thirst of science then take a drive up.

Welcome to my world, Jamz.

That's why I went into chemistry; working on the Ph.D. at the moment. For me, it's nice to be able to understand something until few questions can be asked. I know that every question can't be answered, but that's where the fun lies. How boring would this place be if we knew everything there was to know about certain things? Most new advances in science and medicine are discovered on the tangent to what was really being studied. If there weren't inquisitive minds like you and me Jamz, think of the stuff that we wouldn't have!

My vote is for OCD (no joke, especially if you feel uncomfortable when you don't find out the science behind something)
