how many people ar ein your position and did they get invited?

i take employees to lunch but never all at once, i have to leave some to be at the office to handle customers. I some times take people to lunch that i have doing a special project for me just "reward" them or to make our interactions a little smoother. if it happens once or twice I would not worry about it. if it happens more then i would make plans with a friend and have lunch at the same place and see how they re-act.

As much as I hate to admit it, situation like this remind me of high school and make me wonder if I am not in the coll crowd, that chit still goes on with grown a$$ people.

74 % of you say I'm nuts...Okay, I can live with it, I asked and you all responded, cool....
I'm glad the majoirty of you are safe and secure in your employment, I realize we all have issue's and job satisfaction is hard to find, but not out of reach.
Realizing I have skills and I can dance to my own mussic in my own band instead of towing the company line, IE political correctness or brown Knosing,ic ect is awsome...

Some where in life you have to learn how to turn Chicken **** into chicken soup.

safe and secure in your employment, and job satisfaction are two completely different things... i have a pretty secure job, but at the same time, i am looking, because i am not that pleased with my current employer. i work for a guy we refer to as "the tyrant", nice guy as far as a person goes, but he is a jerk to work for....

edited for language... my bad

I guess I am fortunate. I have worked for the same employer for 20 years, and though I have taken my share of crap early on, I am finally being recognized as a valuable employee. I report directly to the President/CEO of the company and to the Board of Directors. I just had my annual review and was told by my boss that there is no one else that he would trust to do my job. He also told me that the Board of Directors have instructed him to make sure I am happy and well compensated for my work; they don't want to have to replace me if I leave. I have gotten excellent raises the past 6 years and a nice performance bonus this year.

With all that said, I am in the office at least 5 days a week all day while our Sr. management, commercial lenders, and a select few good old boys go golfing 2 or three days a week in the summer. There are also trips to baseball/football games, hunting trips, golf trips, golf outings, dinners, luncheons, camp outings, and other various fun stuff that I am not invited to. Does it tick me off? Yes! But the way I look at it, I don't have a much in common with those guys and honestly don't want to socialize with most of them anyway. I get paid to do a job, not be everyone's friend. I do get invited to the CEO's Christmas party at his home so that makes up for some of it.

a hint of stalker too
too funny

I think you read too much into it, stop being so ...ummmmm...how do I say it, .....female? is that the right word?
probably not politically correct, but my wife comes home always complaining about little things like that and she works with mostly females, seems kinda petty. But then again, we don't know your entire situation, just this one little window to observe from.

BTW, as you well know, with the economy in the region we live in, it doesn't take more than a phone call and you got a new job anyways. I say, GO POSTAL and DO A VIDEO (just don't kill anyone)

disclaimer: I in no way condone this kind of behaviour and am not responsible for the actions of people who fail a "am I nuts poll"

chances are, they thought they invited you. The invitation could have just been a verbal in the hallway "hey everyone, lets go for lunch, my treat"

And then they were sitting there wondering why you didnt show up.

Now they think you are anti-social.

no, I was clearly not invited, every one but my self who works in the sub divisson was chowing down when I went to the bank, to get some cash, ( bank and dinner are side by side ) By boss and co workers deameanor today were not the norm.

Dinner was for a new supervisor who is taking over one area, Tile setters who were invited told me.

Now, I'm not worried abought it and I'm not going to be walking on egg shells. I will just do my job and smile, even thow the boss had me move the same 7 sheet's of ply wood to two diff. houses, It's busy here and this may have been an over sight, I make mistakes here and thier and each day I go to work is one less day I will be doing what I do. Buying a house a new truck are on hold...
