Actually, I don't watch the Simpsons.....sorry:o. But I think I know what you mean.

I never did for the first 5-7 years, but some times the episodes are funny as they can mimic the every day problems that can occur.
I do not have cable so the TV is minimal at the moment, dvd movies.
