I will go along with #1 and #4. I was never a fan of the El Camino or the Ranchero, although, trucks have gotten so nice, it is about the same difference.

The first new car I ever bought was an '89 Plymouth Acclaim LX! I guess it was a pretty good car for the era and for what it was -- essentially a fancy K-car.

But damn, I was proud of that car! If you're a "car guy" there's nothing quite like the sense of accomplishment you get from buying your first new vehicle!

So let em think your financing and then when you work out a price, write the check and if they don't take it, walk out.

I don't ****er and if they try to play me I walk. I've always gotten my price.

Mine was an LX too! Black cherry with the dark red interior. I think it had every option available.

You must have pretty good credit to get approved for a 32000 car at 20 plus the payments should be around 600.00 & change wow. I am happy for you guys..

My parents bought me my first vehicle, a 1978 Ford Mustang II (in 1994) that caught on fire while I was driving it through the middle of town... it was exciting.

I then just drove their 95 Prizim for a while and then bought a 1994 Ranger (which they helped make the payment on a couple of times when I was in college)with about 20k on it in 97. Drive it until January 06 when I bought my 2004 F150 XLT Xcab.

All in all, God blessed my parents with the ability to help with those purchases and I am really greatful for it.

My new truck is all me though, unless my wife helps! haha.

That being said, my parents aren't done giving me vehicles. One day, I will get the 1972 Barracuda my mom has had since it was new...

That Black Cherry was a nice color -- that's what I wanted, but they didn't have any on the lot, so I had to settle for a White one.....

8 cars in 6 years, I either get bored with them or wreck them, never seem to last long tho, hahaha, made all the payments myself, however the first two were financed in my fathers name.

1. 1999 Mustang LX Coupe- financed and totalled after 5 months
2. 2000 Mustang GT Conv.- leased, wrecked once after 3 months and totalled after about 1.5 years
3. 1993 Probe- paid cash
4. 1992 Lebaron Conv.- cash
5. 1977 Chevy K5 Blazer (miss that one, 6 in susp lift, 3 in body, she was big)- cash
6. 1999 Elantra- cash again
7. 2002 Elantra- first car financed in my name
8. 2006 Screw XLT 4X4- leased, hope I have better luck with this Ford than the other 2

I paid for all of mine, myself- not even any help with the down payments (When they manage to wrestle a down payment from me, that is...), financing or anything...

Me, Myself, and I, that's who. Although my first car was the obligatory beater that the parents got for me when they were tired of driving me everywhere. After that, all mine.

88 Pontiac Grand Prix (parental "gift")
97 Honda Civic DX (bought used in 01)
03 Honda Civic LX (bought new in 03)
04 Ford F-150 XLT (bought new in 04)
05 Honda Accord EX-L (traded 03 Civic, bought new in 05) (Wife's)

Not too many in my approximate 10-yr driving career.
