Comcast cable scam

RockPick, I'm posting here to make sure my fellow F150/Superduty owners don't fall victim to the same scam.

Per the first picture dated 1/27/06 you can see that I returned my equipment to comcast. They told me when I turned in my equipment that I owed them $36.83 and as you can see I wrote it down so I could investigate. Then they sent me the bill .... now in pic 2 you can see the scam because they are trying to charge me for service from 2/3/06 to 2/19/06 as a partial month. If you have ever looked at your bill you will notice that comcast bills you for service in advance. So comcast actually owes me money for the service from 1/28/06 - 2/2/06 that I had paid for in advance. I really could care less about the money they owe me it's the principal of the fact that most people would say "Oh I still owe you money, ok here it is".

So I took time out of my day when I recieved the bill to call them and I got some billing department person on the phone who wanted to argue that I still owed them money but he never could explain why I owed or why they where charging for service after the cancel date. Finally after laying into the guy he says that he will zero my account and send me a reciept. About 15-20 days have gone by and I just opened a collection notice for the $36 bucks. Well I've called back today and currently I'm waiting for a call back from a supervisor.

On a side note I switched to Verizon TV and so far it has been a wonderful experience. I switched my internet almost a year ago when they started offering fiber in my neighborhood.

Sorry for the pic sizing but I had a hard time getting a good scan of the paperwork.

I hate comcast here in Dallas, a total and complete scam. I switched to Dish long ago, better service and quality. Unfortunately I live in Valley Ranch and the only broadband available is comcrap, so I'm forced to use them.

DON'T EVER USE COMCAST IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!

Funny, but I hate Comcast too. And I'm in the heart of "Comcast Country." My only problem is that their own channel Comcast SportsNet plays the majority of Phillies games and I won't get that with Dish Network. So my love for baseball has me held hostage.

Hate em too. Have DishNetwork, all was well til Comcast decided to rape them on the OLN deal. No hockey for me. I'd drop the gloves against Comcast any day.

Major hate for comcast as well. I had DirecTV and LOVED it. I switched so that I could get a DVR that recorded HDTV. If DirecTV would get off their butts and offer me the same thing I'd be back in a heart beat.

Any F150 DirecTV executives out there? Please listen...

(P.S. I know DirecTV has a highdef Tivo but I'm not willing to pay $800 for it. Thats money that goes to my truck.)

I was still pretty upset yesterday when I posted the info so let me clear up somethings I might have missed.

A coworker of mine and I both canceled our comcast service and they tried to bill us for service after canceling. He also said that when he canceled his cable internet they did the same thing. ** Cable internet is slow. Cable will run out of bandwidth and not be able to compete with Verizon's fiber network.

This issue is still not resolved to my liking. I never heard back from a comcast supervisor and just now have had time at work to get online. So now that I have a few minutes I will call those idiots back.

Yesterday for the first time some guy named Carlos did admit my account was paid up to 2/2/06. So they do owe me money not that I really care about it right now.

I've had the internet for almost a year. It was late March when the guys hooked mine up.

Not everyone reads each section of the boards. I have two friends that have never ventured out of 04-06.

It's Comcastic!
I hate Comcast too. I just got rid of them when I moved out of Tallahassee. They didn't give me any crap when I candelled though. They sent me a check for the amount I overpaid and all was well.
Hope you get this cleared up soon.

we had COMCAST internet and tv, but have always wanted the Verizon internet, well a salesman came by one night me and the lady were heading out. WE sat down and ordered it that night, 1 week later, a 5 hour install and having TV better than DISH with faster internet to boot.. we were THRILLED.
