That's the way it looked from the previews too. That's alright but not scary.

I want to be scared dang it!
Make me wonder what's below the water as I swim in the lake, make me remember a scene when I'm camping, make my heart race next time I'm broke down along side the road, make me think that I heard something while I'm laying in bed each night for the next several months. When I'm in the woods, day or night, make me keep looking over my shoulder.

Those are the results of a good horror film!

I thought that at first...but I think it was the directors way of showing what Wes Craven wanted to show 30 years ago, but wasn't allowed to. Also, it wasn't supposed to be a "scary" movie.

as jamzwayne mentioned, the Hills have eyes, wasnt supposed to be a "omg whats under my bed" kind of scary movie. it was supposed to be violent and shocking, as well as showing how capable a family of normal average people can change under dire circumstances and be just as violent and cruel as the antoganotists (my spelling sucks btw!)....

in comparision to the original movie, this one exceeds it and goes way far and beyond the current trend of remakes.

the movie is well scripted with good character development and very good acting. for example, lizard (billy drago, also known as charlie from land of the dead) took the spot light from the rest of the cast of villians. sure Cyst was scary, both goggle and jupitor were also interesting characters, and even the brain was a memorable character, but Billy, alone took the center stage and was at times more of the person in charge then a regular hence men.

what made the movie for me, was the fact that they made beast a much more important character. you'll find yourself cheering for him alot.

i wish they continue to make remakes as good as this and king kong...i think these 2 movies have pushed the bar up for the rest of the filmmakers that decide to make remakes. staying true to the original and improving is the way to go.

well thats my part in that. enjoy!
