Another computer question

Since I don't have internet access at the house for the moment, I took it upon myself to do a little maintenance to my laptop. Deleting old music I don't listen to anymore, deleting various junk and random odds and ends, and I think I removed/deleted something I shouldn't have. Everything still works just fine, but upon windows start up, I get something that says "Windows Installation Initializing" or something like that, as if Windows is looking for something I removed. Then after a few seconds, it says "Norton AntiVirus 2005 does not support the Repair procedure, please uninstall and reinstall." Is there anyway I can see like in the registry or something what Windows is trying to install? I stayed away from mission critical files when I was removing stuff, but a couple that I did pull (I think Reget Basic and Viewpoint media player) had pop ups that said "Windows may not operate properly if this program is removed." Is there anything I can do on my end to see what I did?

Sounds like a registry conflict. Can you reboot in safe mode?

Just try a system restore to the day before you "cleaned" it.

Start
Programs
Accessories
System Tools
System Restore
Restore my computer to an earlier time
Pick a date just prior to the "cleaning"
etc...

I went back about a week in system restore and everything's kosher again.

Next time I'm in y'alls respective areas, the cold beers are on me.
