Bye Bye Little GTO
This car Rocks
First, I will admit the styling of the new GTO was too conservative for the name. They could have done better!!!!!!
BUT,
I have a 2005 400hp LS2 6 Spd GTO, This car flat out rocks. It is very quick, handles good, rides like a caddy, and is one of the best kept secrets in the performance car market. I was in the market for a Vette when I looked at the car. What really sold me was the interior. The inside is one of the best GM has ever put on the road.
Go drive one if you doubt how good this car is. Besides, you show me a Non-Modified factory GTO that ran 13.0's off the showroom floor. There wasn't One that did. The Muscle cars of today as a whole are much quicker than those of the past. It is a shame that this car was only imported for 3 yrs (Gm subsidary Holden of Austrailia actually builds this car) I think there will be a demand for this car in the future. I have had mustangs in the past and the goat blows em' all away. (My 2004 cobra was faster, but not as comfortable to drive). I just hope if they release a new GTO, they do not give it a base engine with 6 Cyl. But seeing as how GM(and Ford too) like to keep a low price point, they probably will.

I have only seen two of the newest GTO's on the road. Both times I had to look at it for a while to figure out what it was. To me it looks like the Monte Carlo, before they added the old school back end. 96 or 97, or whatever year it came out. At any rate the newest Monte looks really good to me for some reason, but ONLY if it has wheels and tires that meet the fender edge. As for american muscle, I mmay try to talk my wife into one of these, hehe. (link below) With my luck she'll want to get the Hybrid Fusion, and I don't blame her. Gas is getting more and ridiciulous, pretty soon we'll need to take out a loan to be able to drive our trucks.,,,,98
If only they'd drop the damn 4 doors already. Somehow we got bamboozled into thinking 4 doors can be cool. I guess I'm too old school for my own good, eh?

I've heard lots of rumors that say the GTO is not dead, just went on hold for a few weeks.
BTW, a 4-dr Daytona and Super Bee really suck! I've got a buddy who recently bought an 05 Rumble Bee to compliment his '70 383 4-spd numbers matching Super Bee... I thought the Rumble Bee was a tasteful nod to the muscle car era, but a 4-dr Charger Super Bee or Daytona? Other than the new Go ManGo I really don't care for those cars...
