We've got the same 'village idiot' problem that usually makes fishing opener back in Minnesota miserable.
The guy is in his 40's and still lives with his mom.
It pretty much keeps going further downhill from there. No drivers license, no career, no car. The very definition of a loser.
I'd bail if you know a bad situation is pending. What's the point in being involved in it?

But not to night, I think I'm coming down with something. Got the headache and body aches. Think I'm going to sit in front of the tv and veg for the night.

call in sick and stay in bed!!!
rest is the best thing for these problems
i used to try and shake it off till mrs zap set me straight
one day in bed beats 5 days of feeling like shi!
and she's 100% correct
