...for some reason I can't view any pics, mine included, on this site or a few others. This is driving me crazy, can anyone help me PLEEEEZE?!!!
Yeah, closing everything and then coming back works, but then it happens again
I've already deleted both the cookies and temporary internet files, still no help. I've also ran my Spysweeper and McAfee virus Scan in safe mode, thinking maybe something got by, and again no help. It used to be pics that were hosted from Shutterfly, now it's affecting any hosted by Photobucket too. Oh, I'm gettin' a headache

Probably one of your programs blocking images from loading.
You should be using FireFox browser, NOT Internet Explorer
Turn off your antivirus, spyware scanners, etc and see if it works. If it does, it's one of those programs. Bring them back one by one until you find the one that is causing the problem.

And don't start with the virus crap, I've never had a virus in the 4 years I've owned this computer. And I surf almost every day.

that statement is like saying you should be driving a Chevy NOT a Ford.
i used to have that problem years ago with AOL. using the disk clean up would fix it for me.

Both IE and FF are good browsers. I prefer FF and use it almost exclusively. Correctly tweaked it will outperform IE and includes features such as tabbed browsing. I dont hate IE but I prefer FF.
I dont suspect your problem is with IE or FF, as either browser should work. It definitely sounds like you need to clean your cache, temp internet files, temp directory, etc.

The reason I don't recommend IE is, well, mostly because anything I can do with IE I can usually do better with FF. Take the search function for example, hit ctrl+f and search for something. With IE you have to pick search up or down, and have to close the search window to click around on the page behind it and then open the search window yet again to keep going.
FF puts this in a nice little toolbar along the bottom that still allows you to edit and move around on the page. Search goes back to the beginning when it hits the end of the page so you don't have to use search up instead.
Thats one of the things that most pisses me off about IE. The other is popups. IE will always get popups and requires 3rd party standalone applications to do anything useful. FF on the other hand, with the Adblock extensions, I see no ads and no popups. Ever. Not even text ads.
FF is also notably more secure than IE, but thats often not really an issue.
The tabbed browsing is also a very essential feature to any good browser.
However... Back to the original problem....
My apologies for assuming anything, but I used to work in a repair shop and the most common reason for that problem was somebody's paranoid father downloaded a random popup blocker or configured Norton wrong (Norton really is a bitch most of the time...) and it went nutzo blocking EVERYTHING to "protect" them. Beyond that I would probably have to be sitting at your computer to identify the problem.. so many things can go wrong.
I have about 8 or so Anti-spyware programs laying around which are not installed and have no need to be. I run only Symantec Corp 10 antivirus, and it does everything on its own. I probably could remove it without worry.
Still can't figure out how people get so much spyware...

IE and FF are only as secure as the user. To simply state that FF is more secure would give users an inadequate sense of security. Consider the following:

I love FF but it isnt the end all be all of browsers.
I would argue that the Adblock extension IS a 3rd party program that FF needs to block ads. There are also many sites builtd using IE features such as ActiveX and without it the site will not function correctly.
I agree with the search and tabbed browsing.
I just dont agree that either browser is the absolute best.
I love FF and use it daily but IE is still sitting next to my little fox

I have been strictly FF for over a year....but I installed the Beta2 of IE7 the other week....I am pretty happy with it so far....it does everything almost identical to FF, yet will still access all the ActiveX sites FF could not.....

Thanks all
Ok, so I've deleted the temp internet files, cache, and cookies. I also disabled McAfee, my Webroot SpySweeper, and the pop-up blocker, all to no avail. I'd be pulling my hair out over this, but good ol' genetics is taking care of that for me
Anybody have any other ideas

I've had the same issue here and no one seems to know why. I know that some of the pics and signatures are large files, but I don't know why my computer will not display them. I have turned signatures off and that seems to have helped, but I still have a problem if someone posts some large picture files.
