Question Tornado?

Has anyone actually installed one of those "tornado" intake inserts? You know the metal turbine looking piece that is on the "infomercials" and goes inside the intake pipe before the throttle body. If so, have you noticed any improvements? You can get them at PepBoys so I figured they must be bull@#*!

Okay, people buy a less restrictive after-market intake for a reason. Why would you insert something into the flow of air and think its gonna help? Best if used as a paper-weight,save your money.

Take a soup can, cut out booth lids ( after your down eating the soup ) attach one open end to the TBI, duct tape or a C- clamp works best and find a small rodent, ( A hamster on a wheal works best ) insert and attach the remaining end to the air entake, the hamster will spin on the wheal to prevent being sucked in to the TBI not knowing that the faster he's spining the more air he is pulling into the engine...WRKS every time..........

I was actually joking and would never purchase anything that is on TV after 1:00 am or is available at PepBoys. Just making conversation...

Joking or not too many people believe the claims made by these types of products. There is no way that the "vortex" this thing creates would hold through the entire intake tube, past the throttle body, the intake and finally into the cylinders. The Tornado belongs in the trash can with the throttle body spacer and similar products making similar claims.

I read a thread where it was stated that for the older engine intakes the tornado AND throttle body spacers would actually help. But not for the newer fuel injected vehicles.

The real way to save gas, is to take said can, stick it behind your *** and wait with a lid.
