I have a freind that owns one of these, not the new ones but a 1979 yellow bug convertable. Damn I hate driving in that thing!
I'm disapointed with the new IS. No stick w/ the larger engine. No more Inline 6. Price went way up, performance went down w/ the 250 vs. prior 300. Interior is way nicer, though. I still wish I could buy an E36 M3 4dr 5-speed, which cost less in 1998 than a current 330i. Oh, well.
And all of this is coming from the guy who wants to bring his boat down and have a get toghether. I can hear it now, "Call me Skipper, Lil Buddy!"
Just kidding Justin.....

In reference ot the newer style bug pictures. Why haven't I seen one jacked up with 44" super swampers on it yet? Or one with 20" wide meats on the back and little tiny front tires? They did all kinda of crazy stuff to the old ones.
I guess the old one's only took a rubber band and a pack of chewing gum to fix most of the time too. My roomate had one and you never knew if it was gonna stop or not. No, really, you had to pump the brakes to get them to work and sometimes it wouldn't stop.
