Any Protein takers?

Ive been workin out for a few months and recently decided to start taking protein (not creatine or steroids). Just wonderin if it has worked for you guys, and what results you have witnessed. Also, i got the chocolate flavored kind and its horrible, i just have to say "bottoms up" and chug it. What will happen if i mix sugar in it, to make it less grusome? THanks fellas

~..Josh.

The chocolate protein powder is better when its mixed with milk. I drink it with skim milk. More protein is added when you add milk. Whey protein gets your muscles thick and hard and it also helps in muscle recovery after workouts.

ISS Research makes a protein powder called Pro M3 and it tastes great and mixes pretty well too. For some reason only some GNC stores carry it but it's cheaper online anyway. It comes in Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry.

If you want a really good protein shake using the crappy tasting chocolate protein powder you have now try this.

8-10oz milk
2 scoops protein powder
1 banana
1 tblspn of peanut butter
3-4 ice cubes
blend in blender for 30 seconds and enjoy.

Depending on what type of protein powder you use it equates to about 50-60grams of protein and about 300 calories. Enjoy

Personally I like the Vanilla, you can mix it with berries of your choice, put it in the blender, and it tastes like a creamsicle!

Take some amino acid supplements as well,, it will decrease you "hurt" time between workouts..

but protein is the way to go!! I noticed a big difference in muscle mass gain, versus taking nothing.

I am currently taking the Optimum Nutrition right now because I ran out of the ISS and didn't want to wait and order it and I agree with KickinBlue4x4 it tastes excellent and with 55g of protein per serving it's alot of bang for the buck. Also the amino acid supplement previously mentioned is awesome in aiding in recovery. TwinLab makes a good one and it comes in pill or liquid. (try the liquid or else you have to take like 4 humongous pills everyday)

Optimum is great stuff, been using it for a few years now with really good results. I just recently started taking it with milk, it tastes a lot better than with water. Less chunky too

Don't you just love when you take a big swig of the ol' protein shake and chew it instead of drink it. UMMMM Chewy!

i mix mine with orange juice. i drink it every morning and when i get home from the gym in the evening.

a word of caution, usually the directions on the container tell you to mix up a "mega-sized" portion..... i never had good luck with this, so i normally go for a smaller portion and just space it out over time.

oaw

DEca is the only good thing, lol

I'm just kidding.

I always try to take protein. Also, try to add protein in your diet, like chicken and tuna, things like lunches, snacks (at least 6 meals a day)

Muscle Milk isn't a whey=not ideal for post workout. ON has some good flavors. I am very picky about tastes so I just use the Natural whey=no flavor. Also, look into Syntrax Nectar, they taste pretty good. Especially the Crystal Blue(I think that's the name) and the Lemon Tea(add a little lemon and splenda to 16 oz of water and one scoop and stir for 45 secs and it tastes EXACTLY like sweetened tea). As a hint, drink the syntrax cold for even better taste. Your gains will without a doubt be better with whey, it is a staple supplement in bodybuilding.
