Took a Trip South of the Border...

We took a trip south of the border, to Algodones, BC Mexico yesterday... Saw my first few Lobos... I'm a dork, because I actually got excited about it.

For those that don't know, the Lobo is what they named the F-150 for sale in Mexico.

Here's one I had to throw in... It's my son, Logan, and his cousin... We bought my son a little guitar while down there and he decided to sit on a bench outside one of the barber shops and play... He SO ROCKS!!!

A Lobo? I have seen the badges before, but just thought it was a custom badge job. See, your not a dork, not at all.

Yeah, it was a blast!!! I was trying to find a nice walking stick when we were there, but couldn't... So, instead, I bought a bottle of Don Julio Anejo for $35!!! It costs almost $80 in the US, but is the smoothest Tequila you'll ever drink!!!

Yeah, we had a blast though. There are guys right when you cross the border, handing out fliers for dentists and optomotrists... We were there for my Sister-In-Law's teeth and had an appointment, but couldn't find the place, so we talked to one of the guys and he took us to the one he worked for. It turned out that he lived here in Lake Havasu back in the late 80's... Small world. Really nice guy... Spoke excellent English.

We didn't eat down there, only bought canned sodas and ate before we went across and then after we came back across in the afternoon.

PS- I found out from another guy that Ford, Chevy, Volkswagen, and Dodge all have plants down there...

Not me, I have insurance. My Sister-In-Law has none and needed work done badly... She said they did a good job... And CHEAP. I've heard it's not that bad. The dentist she went to was a woman. She had her credentials on the wall and said she went to school for like 5 years. There are over 350 dentists in Algodones.

A full set of dentures down there would only cost her like $300. She would have paid $1200 for JUST her uppers in the US.

Hey, cool...

Don't feel bad though. I got kinda excited when I saw one in Progresso last year, and I too took pix (my fiance thought I was a dork though). I think it was a red extended cab 97-03... Of course there were several odd vehicles that we don't have up here...

When we went to the Mayan Riveria last year I also got excited about the LOBO. We were with another couple and they were like "OK".

Dude, the Don Julio has to be tasted to be appreciated. It is smooth as silk and best of all you can drink a bottle and get up the next morning. Although, you will have to puke a couple of times in the airport on the way back...at least thats what I hear. lol

The more I hear about Don Julio, the more I want to try it.

I'm not a big drinker, but I like a nice smooth drink every once and awhile. I'm real fond of Crown Royal and Dr. Pepper. People laugh at first, but give it a try sometimes....you'll be impressed.

I've drank about half a bottle of it in one sitting, once... No pukey at all...

This is a note to everybody:
If someone ever offers you some Don Julio (ESPECIALLY the Anejo), I would say they're a true friend. I won't share with anyone I'm not REALLY close to.

Don't slam it. sip it and savor the flavor.

...And say THANK YOU!!!

The photo of your son is cool. I think you should hold on to that one for the future, when he's a professional street busker. j/k

Glad you had a good time. Maybe the wife & I will get a chance to be down that way in a year or so on our scoots on a 'round North America tour.
