No. I'm entirely local for the last 10 years. I run between Greensboro and Raleigh, NC. There are soooooooo many excelent drivers here. I drove OTR with a different company for 5 years. I saw most of the country and a good chunk of Canada then. The area I drive in now ranks pretty high on the idiot meter.

Oh yeah, Kobi.

I watched one of those cop programmes on TV yesterday and guess what................ The female officer was yakking on the phone, driving with reds & blues on, and talking to the cameraman, all at once.
Multitasking to the limit???

Have you driven in Los Angeles on the 405 and 101 in the Valley and in West L.A.

18 wheelers, the sdewalls of the tires are the width of the lanes now. Some parts of the freeway have 6 to 7 lanes a side (with little to no widening of the fwy) so them puppies are thin.

Right now they are widening the 405 is west los angeles so they made the lanes as thin as possible while they have construction on the side.

When Cadillacs pretty much fill up a lane side to side, you're in trouble.

That's why I ride a motocycle. The lanes are pretty wide for me.

Hell, I have seen some people talk on cell phones while driving a motorcycle. One hand on the bar, and the other up to his ear. Talk about idiotic huh?

Yes.

Not to take away from L.A., they were narrow, too. I never felt like my life was in danger there though. Atlanta was a different story. Tight, curvy, and everybody hauling *** without regard for life or limb. It's crazy.

*note* We drove through around 2-3am.

The roads in LA (especially the surface streets) are some of the worst in the country. (Entire cars have been known to disappear in potholes)

It's kind of like a war zone where bombs were dropped . . . often and everywhere.

And yeah, the lanes really are that thin, even in places where there is no construction, and yes, there is often traffic even at 2-3 AM

Yeah, but I don't know how long ago you were here, but in the past 3-4 years the lanes have gotten even thinner as they added "diamond" lanes all over the place.

However, here you can rarely "haul ***" as it's too congested.

Fair enough. I haven't been there in the past 3-4 years. I could be selling L.A. short.

I have to give a second to Atlanta. Last time I was there was back in 96 but it was scary. We were doing 90 in bumper to bumper traffic, and people were flipping us off while they were passing. Were were on our way to the airport and even exiting to the airport you didn't dare slow down or they would run you right over.

BTW....anything eveil that happens to you while driving ant yacking on the phone is hopefully a lesson learned because you got nobody to blame but yourself.

How the heck can you hear on a cell phone with a helmet on? I presume they were wearing one, but then again, talking on the phone is as stupid as riding without a helmet, so they probably weren't wearing one.
I lost what I was thinking...........
Oh, yah. Hear the phone with the wind, traffic and your own bike making noise??

What hand did this genius use to hold the phone with?? Right or left?? I guess that doesn't matter because being a RUBE he probably had cruise control, so he could use either hand.

It was a jap cruiser bike so it was quiet, and it had a windshield. No helmet and talking with his left hand.
Bout the only good thing out of it, he was going the speed limit. He talked for a good 30 minutes before hanging up. Some people amaze me............
