Ok, I dont know where the thread went about disbanning our military, but here's a perfect example of WHY it's a good idea to have our military WORLD WIDE.

The U.S. Embassy said an American naval vessel was en route to the disaster area and Philippine disaster officials were being consulted on coordinating chopper deployment. The Red Cross also appealed for U.S. troops, who are in the country for joint military exercises, to send helicopters.

What a shame .... the lives and property lost due to weather related situations these past couple of years is unreal ... baffling to see such stuff
