Interesting. In the 31 years that I have been driving, I've gotten 4 tickets. Not once did I plan on getting any of them, which just goes to show that the best "not" laid plans of men often go awry. (With apologies to Robert Burns)
Your time will come.
I don't whether to laugh or get angry at how fast they apologized. It's funny to see them wet their pants, sad to think they thought they could get away with it based on how they percieved our social status.

Ya, I remember the time a college kid passed me while I was running radar, and flipped me the finger... I stopped him (for speeding of course...38 in a 30) and ran his license. While I was waiting for the response, I asked him why he gave me the finger. He said it was his "god given right and his first amendment privledges" that allowed him to do that. When his license came back suspended, I laughed and laughed when I placed my cuffs on him. He sounded like a motor boat while I escorted him to my chariot- "but..but..but..but..but..but...but"

Yeah it's funny, one of our "finest" in Iowa, the chief of police just got arrested for animal cruelty for unlawfully taking seven dogs out in the country and shooting them, and when that didn't work on one of the puppies, he crushed it's head.
For every story about how abused police are, there's one out there where the cops are the criminals.
Sorry, but I don't trust police, never have and until I see the BS I've seen stop, I never will.

Walk a mile in our shoes and you'll change your mind. But people like you couldn't handle the situations we're put into anyway so just be happy that you sleep under the blanket of protection provided by the heroic men and women in law enforcement.

I protect myself, I have to because the cops clearly can't.

Sure I could, at least as well as any cop. But looking at the news lately, it would appear that there are quite a few cops who can't handle the situations they're in so ...
Happy that the people who are sworn to enforce the law end up breaking half the time? Hardly. But the you're ego is so swollen it threatens us all.

As far as you saying that you could handle it I encourage you to sign up for a ride along with an officer with your local police or sheriff's department and I think your mind will be changed or at least you'll have a different outlook on things.
To put all law enforcement officers into the same group as the very, very few who do the things that make the 6 o clock news is extremely unfair and ignorant for that matter. That's like saying all German people are **** death camp soldiers who kill Jews and other non Aryan's, or that all middle eastern people are terrorists. As far as you thinking my "ego" is swollen I won't even validate that with an argument because if you knew me or worked with me that would be the last thing on your mind. I do the job I do because when I can actually make a difference in someone's life wether it be large or small that is the most gratifying thing in the world. To be able to fix a problem of some kind with providing an insight into the situation that the parties involved may not have thought of or had the presence of mind at the time to think of and squash a problem is all I need to go home at night and say that I did something that made a difference today. And let me assure you that when the sh*t hits the fan the first phone call you will make will be to your local law enforcement office and regardless of how you feel about them they will still be there to lend a helping hand.

I base my opinions on my experiences with the police I've encountered and the ones I know personally.
I have no more reason to trust cops than I do any stranger on the street.
Got a Noise Violation ticket for having my 3 JL 12w6v2s cranked a bit too loud on the main drag by San Diego state (I was outbumping an escalade), a ticket for not having TWO leashes tieing my dog down in the bed of my truck, and then 2 speeding tickets around 80mph in a 65.
all in 4 years...nothing on my record though! woohoo lol

I have a driving record 3.5 pages long, 4 suspensions in 3 years... This finally has all finally started to disappear off my record. My first 2 cars were Mustangs, I was young and dumb, and didn't realize the danger I was causing to people around me. I still do the occasional 5 over on the expressway, but after going through all that, and then having a child, makes you look at things a little differently.
First MIP ( minor in possession of alcohol ) while 17
First speeding ticket 17 90+ in 65, wrote me up for 80 thank god.
Raided a friends party by shutting the lights off with breakers then raided the house with paintball guns and masks. Had swat called on us. God let go with just FI cards and had to have parents come get us.
Ummm another speeding ticket last year for 54 in 40
Various other stuff...
