I sure as hell hope you don't support Osama!

Just to let everyone know, the only reason we have bases in other countries is to keep the world in check. We are there because the host country wants us there or because the host country has started some ***** with either us or our allies and they need to be watched.

 

My 2 cents.

We need Military installations world wide. You never know when the US will need to be in a country in a few. So, without these installations strategically setup around the world, we wouldn't be able to re-act in a timely manor.

 

Just wanted to bump this tread up so 6T6CPE has a chance to respond. And so you know, I have no personal beef with you. If you've read any threads with me and CeHoward going back and forth, you'll know I love debate and actually learn a lot of info from debates. Just don't start taking it personal, and maybe we'll both learn a little....

 

We, as an educated, moral, and superpower of a country are obligated, yes obligated, to be the worlds police. Failure to do so means to let someone else step in to be the police.

The fact, yes fact, is someone will be the police, some country WILL without any debate take that role on. It’s a fact of life and un-debatable because that is the REAL world.

There will NEVER be world peace, there will NEVER be a world without wars. That too is a fact, it is not up to debate because that is how the real world operates.

It’s great that some people want to whine about how we should not be the world’s police but then again they have no responsibilities to mankind and keeping the world as safe as we possibly can. Therefore while they can enjoy their fluffy life style filled with no responsibilities its irrelevant want they may “want” since they will never get it…

Make love, not war, is nothing more then a stupid song/saying thought up from some stupid people who have no idea what responsibility actually is…

Next time someone makes a stupid statement about wanting world peace pass the bong back to them so they can continue to enjoy the hallucination they put themselves in…

 

I just got home from work and have been going through a few but it's gotta be quick. I have to go back to work in the morning.

When I first read the thread headline what went through my mind was why would someone on the ocean of the west coast wanna eliminate the military. I could see it if it was a land locked area like Wichita, Kansas!

Some one in another forum said this country is split right now over this whole mess. He is right. I believe in a strong military. I wasn't a fan of base closures for several reasons. It hurts the local economy and it takes away places that could locate people near home. That is why they opened up a closed army post in upsate NY. They reopened Fort Drum about 10 years ago to try and get people to enlist from that part of the country.

 

Im in the army, and I am proud to serve this wonderful country. I have been around the world, and without the military forces that protect us, we would not be able to enjoy the every day rights we have that others do not.

 

Exactly!! I hate the fact that there has to be conflict, but that's just it. It is a FACT and it always will be.

 

Well let's hope China doesn't get our attitude. As long as we keep getting in other countries business there is gonna be retaliations against us. We are just stirring up the bees nest. If we are looking to rid the world of dictators we wouldn't have to go very far. We were only friends with the Shah of Iran for his oil. He was a dictator that we put in office.

911 was just a start of what can happen in this country. Look at what it's like in Israel. That could easily be us. Japan and S. Korea are big enough and wealthy enough to take care of themselves. Although I believe Japan is limited militarily because of WWII. We don't have people stationed in S. America, Canada or Australia. That's because the hot spot is where the oil is and that is a major concern of ours. That is the reason why we need to find different fuels.

Your right. We'll never see peace, at least in my lifetime. But as long as we're getting other nations angry with us we are just hurting ouselves in the long run.

 

Why is it that no one in the world wants us as the global protectors/police, but they want us to jump in and offer aid whenever there is a problem...

You know what,,, you get both....We're the police because the people who are complaining, are the people doing the killing,,, the people who want aid are the people we protect...

remember the asian tsunami ... by the end of the first day they were saying (where is the US aid).... forgive me I do support us helping everybody that needs it.....but the rest of the world is not on our wellfare system.. they do not demand aid.... we offer it, because Americans are generous... and as it has been said ...it is the responsibility of a superpower to help the countries that are less fortunate.

If you want to get rid of the military... then i'm sure we can raise enough money to get your *** out of the country.

I think we need to get the address of this assclown and send him four thousand pieces of mail, explaining the reasons why he should give up his citizenship, and begin living the rest of his life as Osama's understudy.
