I'm in the houston area.... this weekend we're going to have a high of about 65, and a low probably in the upper 30's... the weather's pretty nice right now..not a cloud in the sky.. but here in Texas they have a saying... if you don't like the weather... wait 5 minutes... the forcast is hardly ever correct
what part are you headed to?
as far as cabbies go... i don't know,, no body uses them here... if i was going anywhere i would just get a 30.00 rental car... or for 60bucks you can rent a 05-06 Screw

Any of you Houston guys ever been to the SRO Sports Bar at the Northwest Mall? I'm gonna be heading there on Feb. 24-26 for the $6,000 Houston City Foosball Championships. Is it a pretty cool place to hang out at?

The weather is great this time of year in Houston, so that should be no problem. Now for what to do, that's a bit of an issue. In the 10+ years I have lived here, the only things I can figure out that an "out-of-towner" can do is eat, drink, or go to strip clubs! This is easily the most BORING major city in the country!
As far as I can tell, no one ever comes to (or lives in) Houston by choice -- you come here (or live here) because your boss tells you that's where you need to go to collect your paycheck! It's a good town to come to, work your a$$ off and make some good coin for a decade or so, and then high-tail it away to a part of the country that has at least a shred of aesthetic beauty, or that thinks "architecture" doesn't mean "strip mall"...
Gee, can you tell I love living in Houston!

Isn't that how everyone that lives in Houston feels about the place? I have only driven through it and I didnt even like it.

Maybe I am biased, having been raised in Minneapolis, which is an aesthetically "pretty" city, but Houston as a city has absolutely no "curb appeal" whatsoever....
You know, I actually enjoyed living and working there.
I went to the Astro's and Texans games (good and bad)
Joined the Houston Area Lightning Owners Club (HALO) made good friends and raced with them at HRP and Sealey twice a month.
Went to the informal show and shine most Fridays at Sams Lot off Highway 10 and Dairy Ashford.
For Bill, cabs are pretty cheap. Never got ripped off once at the airport.
Try and visit NASA if that sort of thing appeals to you (it did to me) and it's right near Kemah Boardwalk which is pretty nice.

I'll be down there the week of Feb 27 thru Mar.3.
I will be attending meetings for the OIL company I work for if you can imagine that. The galeria area is where our office is, its not too bad. My parents, live out in the woodlands so I will have to visit with them one day.
