Beating a dead horse....Wal-Mart
Beating a dead horse....Wal-Mart
I know this has been discussed many, many times, but for the love of Pete...
What is it about people at Wal-Mart? It's like once they are "shopping" they forget they are in public. WTF? They all walk around like they are zombies. Hell, I see men and women holding hands walking around like they are on a date. It's a sad day when you have to take your chickie to the Local Wal-Mart for entertainment.
The wife and I went Saturday, because I haven't been in a very long time. She wanted to show me how messed up the place has become. I saw kids running around like they were at the park. Do these kids even have parents? I saw 3 or 4 people in one narrow isle looking at the same thing, and basically walking on each other. People will literally walk into you, and no even say excuse me. I was in the store for about 10 minutes, and I had to get the hell out. I was gonna snap. We dont want that.
While we were walking out the front door, we almost got hit by a surburban walking to our car. He was moving along pretty fast and on the damn phone. The moron didn't even hit the brakes. Prolly didn't even see us. If we wouldn't have stopped, we'd have gotten hit.
As we were leaving, we were waiting for traffic to get the hell out of the way, and an idiot almost backed into us, as he was backing out of his spot. The retard looked at us like we were in his way? What is wrong with these people?
I used to go to Wal-Mart for a few things, but after what I saw yesterday, I doubt I will ever go back.

Good for you. Support local business !!!!!!!!!
As for how the people behave, that's not WalMart's fault, people are mostly just A-Holes.
The national pastime any more is shopping.
All Americans know how to do anymore is consume. And once in the great cathedrals of consumption, they tune out (hence the zombie thing).
Filling empty lifes with crap. God bless America.
If you want to see a great example of what you described, you should check out the South Park episode where they open a "Wall-Mart" in town. It's great.

Yes Sir. I saw that episode. (120: Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes) I thought it was a little blown out of proportion (I dont shop much), but I quickly learned Saturday that is not the case. Wal-Mart is one messed up place.

There was an article in the paper a while back about local government trying to encourage competition, but really who's going to come into the hornet's nest to compete???

"The national pass time is shopping..and all Americans know how to do is consume." I'm beginning to feel ashamed because of that very fact. I spend my week ends following my wife around stores, not because I like to but because it's easier than starting a fight over what to do with the day. I see my six year old in the toy aisle wishing he could have every thing under the sun. I see this mentality in my oldest daughter as well, she's 22. In small town Minnesota in the 60's we didn't spend much time in stores because there weren't many stores. Local clothing, groceries, five and dime and that was about it. We didn't have that much money to spend anyway. In high school if I had a new pair of JCPenney jeans I considered my self lucky. I can only imagine the hatred, hang on to your hats here, muslum society feels looking at us and the way we live. Granted, I'm not up on current events like I should be but sometimes I wish I could turn back the clock to a much simpler time. Just my 2cents
Damn, Same deal with Mal Warts around here in VA. I think most of those knuckle draggers in there are on crack. Then there's that stinking parking lot. If they're not trying to run over you, they're trying to run into you as you are leaving.
I rarely go to that store and on the seldom occasion when I do, I know exactly what I'm going to get (my usual 'shopping' mode anyway) and get the hell out...
after paying of course.

There is one chain that is moving into the hornets nest basically under radar and seemingly undetected so far. It is the only one in Marshal, Arkansas because the city would not allow wal mart to come in.
