next project, need help

Well, I am going to be getting an 85 Mustang GT convertible. Its in great shape, high miles (173K) but all around its in very good shape.
I am looking for any where that has parts for them. My goal is to restore it, not to factory but close. With some mods, moslty drivetrain, suspension and some interior. Any info/help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The 95 will be nice. Heavier though. Personally I would avoid the 94 -98 body style, heavier and slower, but they are all fun with some mods. Good luck.

AAHHAAAAA, I found a 90 GT.
nvrenuff, I agree. I am not too fond of the 94-95 either. This particular one has an all black interior that looks sick, plus I love 5.0 motors. I am going to look at this 90 GT this week. When ever this white stuff stops falling from the sky. lol

Actually, I prefer mustangforums.com or stangnet.com
and for 5.0 parts 50resto.com should very much help you out. For aftermarket goodies though try mustangtuning.com
or if you decide to go with something newer, look in my sig...

Just be sure to post up some before and after pix. I personally love 4 eyed foxes. If I ever get another it will be a 4 eye T-top...

Ah, my favorite subject.

These were the ones I used the most when I had and built mine

www.stangnet.com
www.corral.net
www.mustangpartsspecialties.com (they are kinda high dollar, but have it all)
www.ebay.com (for IT)

The best years are 89-91. THey have forged pistons and mass air. The coupe is the lightest fastest version, and the 5 speed is a simple must have. The vert is a pass for performance mods. I know a guy that has an 86 I sold him (it has the chitty heads but still nice and fast) that he is selling. It has 64K miles on the clock and are real miles.

Well, scratch all of the above. I went to look at a 90 LX 5.0 today, being the moron that I am I forgot to go to the bank yesterday so I had no $$$$ to give him today. He said someone was coming by to look after me, but he said he didnt have all of the money. It was in awesome shape there was sooo little rust on this car, NO rust at the bottom of the doors or any under the car, it didnt look like a New England car. The engine was very clean and started right up, took it for a drive . I hope the other person didnt come by, but I didnt hear from him yet and with my luck I might as well say goodbye. I guess I will wait and see.
