Are you the official "truck biatch?"...
Well...I come from a GM family...had GM cars/trucks my whole life until I bought my F150. Caught all kinds of hell from my family.....until...they needed three pallets of sod picked up from the local sod farm....my dad could only carry less than a full pallet of sod in his truck...02 Avalanche..nice rig but not meant for hauling big loads. I ended up putting over two pallets full of sod in the back of my half ton pickup...reg cab 8 ft box. The farm said that a pallet of sod weighed almost 1200lbs and I figured that I was hauling double that which is way over the limit of my truck. My dad said...that thing is built ford tough right??? The rear end was sagging quite a bit, but my truck hauled that load over 30 miles doing the speed limit with no trouble at all. We ended up making a second run a week later with the same amount of sod to finish off the job.
I am a truck biatch too and don't mind when someone asks ahead of time, I drive, and it better not be a bunch of junk that is going to "F" up my truck.
Today I had to draw the line though. One of the guys at work walked up and asked for my keys. I thought he needed to move it because it was in the way of a semi coming in or something like that. We have a small parking lot so it is not unusual for this to happen. A few minutes went by and he never brought my keys back so I went looking for him. Just then someone came in from taking scrap out and asked where this guy was going with my truck.
I went up to the office to find out what the "F" was going on. The boss said he told him to take my truck out to a job site to pick up some hand rails that were fabricated wrong.

I told him to call the job site and have my truck turned around as soon as it got there and that it better not have anything in the back. While he was at it he could top the tank off on his way back. I also told him that if there was anything in the back when it came back that I would personally unload it and re-load it with my toolbox and be back up to the office to pick up a check for my 2 weeks vacation and last paycheck.
On my way out of his office I told him to use his truck for company chit since the company was paying the lease on it anyway. I am the one that paid for my truck. Just cause he signs my paycheck doesn't mean he paid for my truck.
All he would have had to do is get off hs fat *** and walk out to ask me and I would have said sure but I am going and he better have some blankets to protect my truck.

When I had my 2001 F150 I didn't mind helping out moving a little now and then but now with my L I really don't move anything. Especially with the hard cover and bedrug. However, when I worked at Home Depot it was a great way to met new people (and by people I mean single women). It was great watching them trying to fit a mini-fridge or celling fans in their little jettas and civics.
'Hey I don't think thats going to fit. I got a truck though and if you want to leave it here Ill drop it off after my shift'

When it comes to driving my truck, its only me. My dad has moved it a few times, and that was ok with me because it was from one side of the driveway to another, or to the street. If they want to rent the truck, they are renting out me too. I have no problem helping friends and family move, mainly because they always help pitch in for my gas or buy me dinner, etc. Anybody I don't know, better be paying me good. And the last person I helped move, we didn't use my truck because I had to drive the Uhaul, and I told them that there was no way I would let anybody drive my truck. I'd drive my truck, but then they were driving the Uhaul.
In my senior high school year I was the truck biatch. I had a couple buddys on the Grad Committe (don't know why), and so every time the school needed something for grad, (big rolls of paper, carts full of chairs, etc), "Oh, Travis has a truck! He'll go get it for you!"
So basically I ended up making a lot of trips across town with a regular cab, 6' box, loaded with 5 people and a bunch of junk. I refused to help load anything or carry anything, I was not part of it. I drove, and even then I wanted gas money for it.
Now, since I'm doing school from home this year (and this year only!), my dad often borrows the truck to go to the dump. Fair enough. The problem is when he loads it full of **** from the lawn, trees, etc on SUNDAY and the dump opens on TUESDAY... so for two days I get to drive around with a Yard in my box! Then I get to clean the box out aftwards, and spend the whole day washing/waxing (which is fun if I'm not working ;D)

Yeah Baby!
