I generally never stay at the higher class places. Right now at my age, my finances are pulled in too many directions to stay at expensive places. $200 a night is usually my limit.

For my 10th anniversary, the owner of the travel agency I work for put me up at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. We had a suite, a guide walk us to the room, show us around the whole 1st class treatment. I looked out of place. I'm not use to that level of service. It really was amazing though. I think the room went for $1500 a night. The owner of my company really floored me by taking care of the arrangements, I had only been here for a year.

It was really nice and some day I hope that is the norm but for now the normal places for us.

Yea we can't stay at those hotels on vacation either. We have kids and a dog that I say must come with me! They don't like that. In my eyes my kids have more rights than I do. If you wont let them come when they are with me, then I won't stay when they are not. If we stay some where we have to rent an entire cabin or weekend condo at a resort somewhere. Even then my wife and I are so tense from making the kids and the dog be quite, that it ussually is difficult to enjoy ourselfs. So in the end kids did not have fun and neither did my wife or I.
So other alternative, buy a vacation home. But we don't like to go to the same spot nor the same lake every time. So we would need about 8 vacation/weekend homes to go to, and that's just locally with in a 3 hour drive from the house.
So we choose option (C), which was an RV. The world is now our playground. Where ever we decide to go we just go. Don't have to worry about making arrangments. Don't have to worry about if kids or dogs are allowed. Don't have to worry about how loud we get. Don't have to worry about minimum nights to stay if we have to go back earlier. Only thing we have to worry about is having fun.
If we get a wild hair and decide at midnight that we want to go, then we just load up and are pulling out by 1:00 am with no worries. It's simply the unbridal freedom to do what ever you want, the exact moment that you want to do it. I hate structured, itenaried get aways. If I dont like something I want to leave and do something else. If I like it, then I want to stay! Not move on to stay on schedule.

All kidding aside, as far as actual accomadations and ammenities in an RV... You are simply limitied to what's available to you only by your own personal finances.
There are several RV Resorts that offer the same amenities as a luxary hotel and then some. You don't have to lift a finger once you get there. They'll park it and set it up for you while you relax in the spa. The RV's that go to those, cost more than my entire net worth! Rule of thumb, millionairs will always have thier toys and the comfort they are use to. Where ever there is a need for that, then someone will happily provide it for a cost.

I don't know what type of RV you are talking about, but from what I have seen here, some of those contraptions are at least 1/4 Mil. How many hotel rooms can you rent for that? And meals, etc.
Mind you, you are absolutely correct in the freedom it gives you.
Enjoy your vacations.

I've seen the ones on the travel channel reach $100 million.
Mines not that nice. Mine would be about 3-4 weeks in the luxary suite at 4 Seasons with the "Bed and Benz, Porsche and Pillow ..." Package.
