HAHA! She makes more money than anyone I've had a serious relationship with. I met her over a year ago, we've been seeing eachother for 4 months.

They won't care. The General Manager was very supportive when she told him she was quitting today. He agreed that she's a very great employee; it's just the owners don't give a **** about quality employees. They pay our GM $100K a year but dictate everything to him. Everybody here is micromanaged from the top. He offered her a good recomendation should she need one.

It works, just don't over do it. A few years back I did this around Christmas time then at the Christmas party I dressed up in a $500 suit and the bosses wondered how come I didn't dress like that for work; I simply told them that I don't make enough to dress like this for you. Got a nice Christmas bonus that year, about twice the amount as some guys that had been there 3 or 4 yrs longer than me.

No disrespect, I just have to ask, and if you've already answered it before, I missed it...my bad.

Never walk out unless you have no other choice.

Always give them notice....

I've even volunteered to help train new people, after hours, weekends and still help them if they call me 2 years later.

Burning bridges never helps.

If anything you'll burn them up more by showing how great you were and how foolish they were to let you walk.

I can reference anyone of my previous employers and they will write letters, take phone calls, and jump through hoops to tell my prospective employer how great I was.

Kill em with kindness

I agree with vader's advise, but if what you say is true, it won't phase them. Shuck'em then.
