A drive by quarter!

Pardon me while I vent my frustrations...

I had gone home for lunch yesterday to see my wife and kids. On my way back to work, some punk threw something out the passenger window of a passing car and broke my windshield in my 2005 F-150. MF'ers!

Something caught my eye as they were approaching me, I was doing about 55mph, I saw the passenger this
approaching mini van had his hand out the window and his face was up real close to the glass, not sitting back in his seat. As I got closer the passenger leans out the window and clearly threw something directly at me. I was shocked, I couldn't believe someone would do something like that in broad daylight. Sure enough, I hear a thundering Crash and see something hit my windshield, but didn't notice anything broken. I immediately pull off onto the shoulder so I could turn around to try and get their plate number. I had to wait for cars behind me to pass, then some cars comming toward me prevented me from turning right around. By the time I could flip around they had crested a hill. I continued on and thought I saw them turn into a development, but it turned out not to be the right car. Then I noticed a quarter sitting on the cowling, the plastic part between my hood and the windshield. I stopped to retrieve it. Sure enough there was a dent in the edge of the quarter.

I tooled around for about 45 minutes looking for those punks but never found them.

I showed the quarter to a friend back at work and he said, "Man I don't see how that didn't break anything." Since I never looked closely for damage, I went back outside for a closer look. There is a big star in the glass just below the driver's wiper,
a ding in the plastic cowling and a chip of paint off the wiper itself. There is a crack working its way up a couple inches above my wiper now. I filed a police report with the MD State Police, but of course they couldn't do anything without the tag number.

I couldn't concentrate on work at all I was so fire up. So I went back out again to look for the car. I know I would recognize the guy who threw it. Just a couple of high school punks with a day off and nothing good to do. Unfortunately I never found them. Sure ruined my day

If you haven't put your fingers all over the quarter, take it to your local PD or SD and ask them to check it for latent finger prints. If they find one, explain the circumstances and they will run your states data base for a hit. Might be a way of finding the name.
