Okay, One More Computer Question

How come whenever I do Control Alt Delete, it says that "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator." Uhh....I didnt disable it. Anyone know how I can enable it again? I searched Microsoft but with no luck. Thanks again guys!

Are you comfortable going into the registry and making changes?

If so, take a look at
HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies\ System

See if there is a dword called DisableTaskMgr

If it is there with a value of "1", change the value to "0"

START > RUN type in regedit

go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER and follow that path I gave you.

By the way, if you're not familiar with the windows registry, feel free to look around in there, but don't change anything unless you know exactly what it does.

The registry is basicly "windows"....it's the core component of the operating system. One wrong click or delete and you could ruin your windows installation and have to re-install.

The information systems people have locked out that part from end-users.

LMFAO. That's like saying you're car won't start, and then finding out you're out of gas.

98Lariet, if he was one of our end-users, he wouldn't have been allowed to use regedit. We lock out almost everything from end-users, except the programs they are required to use, You get end-users screwing around with the system, makes for a lot of extra work. On our systems, he wouldn't even been able to get to the "run" command!!
