RP, it ain't likely to happen for at least another two to three years I think, so you're safe for a while.

Ahh! Good! It'll probably be a while before I'm really ready to roll with doing much.

Best of luck to you -- just don't vanish too soon!!! LOL!

I had a 1980 Bronco with a straight six and a four speed manual transmission as my first car. A few years after I got rid of it I bought a 1979 Bronco with a 400 V-8. I sold it to a guy who had a 78 with like 320,000 miles on it. Mine had like 70,000 on it when he bought it. He drove over 100 miles a day round trip to work and the way that 400 drank gas he probably went broke! I loved the Bronco and to this day would love to have one as a project vehicle.

RockPick, is your Bronco rusted out at all? That seems to be the biggest killer of Broncos here in PA.

This one has no rust to my knowledge.... I will admit though, I don't have it in my possession yet and it's been a long while since I borrowed it from my dad... I suspect that, if it has any, it's VERY minimal...

Beyond the projectbronco.com site, I'm looking for resources on parts and such... there used to be a catlog out there specifically for the 78/79 Broncos but, I can't find it now (I actually had one sent to me a LONG time ago to help dad get a few parts)... anyone have any ideas? I've googled and can't seem to find it...

I like the rock crawler idea also, but I can't see you dropping the rockers onto a rock and hearing the bare metal scrape down the rock... or grinding the wheels into rocks just to make it up a ledge.

I'm looking to do this with a jeep once I finally finish school. (this is my last semester)

Looks like it will be a fun project. Deffinatly keep us updated.
