Saw this show about steriods. Just wondering if anyone on here used them...

So I was watching this show on MTV called "tru life, Im on steriods" and I was wondering how many people really did use them. If you have used them I was just wondering what your experiences were. If you havent, what made you decide not to? Needles freak me out and I dont see how people stick themselves with them. Anyways just a question. No offense to anyone.

I have a very high threshold for pain but if you think anyone is going to come near me with a needle...that person better be ready for the fight of their life.

I had to go in for a DOT physical a few years back, and knew I would have to **** in a cup so I stopped at the gas station and grabbed two bottles of Dr. Pepper and drank them so I wasn't standing in there all day trying to **** in the cup. When the rest of the physical was over a nurse came up to me and wanted to draw blood so they could test for diabeties (sp?), and that my sugar level was off the chart. I tried to explain what I had done but she insisted that I let her draw some blood. I told her if she could get enough blood from poking my finger she was more than welcome to do so but there was no way in hell she was sticking a needle in my arm.

I have never done them, considered it several times when I was younger.
Needles dont scare me I could easily give myself a shot.
What did scare me was all the stories of manhood shrinking, growing *****, etc etc.

I do know one guy that started using them in his mid 30's. He was my supervisor at the time, he was going thru a mid life crisis and decided to become a body builder. The dude got HUGE fast! But after he decided to quit body building after a few cometitons he also quit weight lifting and roids. The dude got really fat and hairy almost overnight. Even in a designer suit he looked like a complete slob. It was truely the most pathatic thing I have ever seen and he did get severe man *****, I don't know if the rest is true or not.

Never used them but know several guys that HAVE taken them and these guys have major rage issues. Not worth it. Just work hard and do it on your own...

I have taken steroids for things like poison oak. Pills though. Prednezone (spelling). It does mess me up. Heart rate climbs and seems to beat hard. But sometimes that is the only way to get rid of something like that.

That is different.
Perscription roids are a much lower dose.
Depending up one how much discomfort I was in at the time I would probably take those.

Forget the dose. Prednisone is a cortico-steroid, the "strong" steroids are anabolic steroids. Completely different animal. You can pop a truckload of corticos and your bench wont go up 5lbs.

On to anabolic steroids, I dont use, never have, but know those who have. Personally, I think a big problem with them are all the rumors out there. They work well to scare people and keep them from trying, but once they see that things like loss of ones manhood, manboobs, etc are largely exaggerated, it creates a false feeling of safety. Steroids can lead to serious heart problems, often end up causing bone/tendon/ligament injury, and when one takes them in pill form, they are extremely toxic to the liver/kidneys.

Steroids can be taken in pill form, through a needle, or transdermally (like a lotion).

If using a needle....its not heroine! Do not inject into a vein! It must go into a large muscle group...your butt or delt.

If using oral...you are an idiot. In order to survive the trip through the digestive system and make it into your body, the steroid itself must be alpha-5-something-er-other-erized. It is Hell on your liver.

If you are using transdermal, well, you already know your stuff.

On to man *****...usage can be easily managed so the user will not get them. A simple anti-breast cancer drug blocks the estrogen made by the body when on certain types of steroids. Or you can simply not use a steroid that converts. Roid rage is also easily controlled and I have never heard of an actual case of "shrinkage".

Now...the reason Im telling everyone thsi is because I dont want anyone to meet a guy on roids, who has everything together, and think "hey, its perfectly safe". STEROID USE WILL LEAD TO SIGNIFICANT HEART PROBLEMS. Its that simple. Everything else can be controlled. I really wish the antidrug programs would stress this to teenage boys instead of "your wee wee will fall off". The only people that get man ***** and other such things are people who went to Mexico and bought dirty vet grade steroids that had (generally) been converted to an oral steroid. Bad, bad stuff.

Bottom line....go natural. Less worrying, more pride.

It depends. On one instance, I was taking the equivalent of a whole dose pack of steroids twice a day. Something like 80 mgs twice a day. A dose pack for inflammation is normally around 80 mgs total for 6 days.
