Well, so far I think the Stoners are ahead in this thread. Maybe I should try it, my wife insists I am NOT a multitasker by any stretch of the imagination. I can't pour water into the kettle and turn the stove on at the same time. Shucks, she does laundry, bakes cakes, washes the floor, and does her e-mails all at the same time. How the hell do people do that?? Just practicing.

I have heard the arguement that all these dopers started on pot. Can anyone point to a comprehensive study that shows this to be true? Personally, I think it's the same as saying that all bank robbers started on their road of theivery by learning to walk, or learning to shoot at paper targets with pellet guns. I know a lot of people who have used pot and they don't use heroin or meth, or acid, etc. Maybe it is true that te hard drug addicts did first use pot, then graduated to the other drugs, but did the pot make them do it, or did they decide to experiment with other drugs after using pot? Chicken or egg question. Do ALL pot users eventually end up as crack-heads? I think not. Do ALL beer drinkers end up as alcoholics? I think not. Are ALL motorcycle riders members of the Hell's Angels? I think not.
Get my drift?

 

Women are definatly better multi taskers than men. My wife can have 20 things going and I barely keep one train on the tracks. There was a thing on DHealth a few months ago on this.

They did an experiment with several task that needed to be complete then gave them to 5 women, then 5 men one at a time. It was simple stuff like, send a fax, make 120 copies, boil water, switch laundry, etc etc etc. All the women got it all done mutch faster then the men. They would walk in start the copier. While it was copying they'd put the fax in and dial the number. While that was copying and faxing. Then they'd put the water on. While that was copying, faxing, and water was boiling, then they'd go switch laundry. etc etc etc,
The men would walk in and start the copier and stand there til that was finished. Then go to the fax and wait for the fax machine to finish. Then start the water and wait for it to boil. Then switch laundry. etc etc etc. One task at a time.

But I think what they are saying is this is why you can walk in during these task and give information to them and the guy will remember it better than the women would beable to becsaue he isn't already soaking up his ability to learn more (AKA IQ) with the tasks.

I agree with you on the MaryJ being a gateway drug. I used it when I was younger and I didn't graduate to anything else. Did almost become an alcoholoic though. Most people don't graduate to the next drug. The ones who go into hardcore drugs or become alcoholics, then they are looking for something anyway. They are going to try and find it regardless if we had MaryJ or not.

I dont smoke it but I would vote to legalize it. The laws arent helping to do anything. The only thing the laws are doing is costing lives, casuing kids to get shot, and tax payer money any way. If it was legal then they could walk into 7-11 and buy it like a pack of ciggerettes. When was the last time you heard of anyone getting shot or killed over a pack of ciggerettes or a beer? The reason they fight over it and shoot each other is becasue it's hard to get. Of course public intoxication would still be in place and they couldn't drive while high. But I'd appreciate it if my two young daughters could go to school with out thier being pushers shoving it in thier face and shooting anyone invading thier territory. I am scared to death that one of my baby girls are going to get hit by a stray bullet during one of these dealer territory shoot outs. I'm not near as worried about them doing it. One becasue I've taught them not to. Two it's not likely to kill them if they try it where as a bullet will.

If I had my choice I'd rather them try it instead of alcohol. It is safer than alcohol, a larger percentage of usera of each one (mostly kids) die from alochol poisening than MaryJ overdose and it doesnt burn as many brain cells as alcohol does. It's ussually underage kids OD'ing on alcohol while binge drinking at parties. They werent suppose to have that either.

The best thing we could do to save the kids would be to legalize it with the same restrictions as alcohol and continue to educate them on it. Once its legal it's not a big deal and not as intriquing for them to try anymore. Just like once I turned 21 it was no longer a big deal to drink anymore. A little education combined with street knowledge and a basic understanding of the human phsyche goes along way. It doesnt take a genious to see why our kids are dyeing. Whats sad is we have the power to stop it, but we are to stubborn.

 

They showed the national IQ test on TV here last week.
They had invited 6 groups of people.

1. Garbage collectors
2. Inventors
3. Gothics
4. Famous persons
5. The blowers, people who are regular weedsmokers
6. People who game and puzzle a lot

Group 5, the blowers.

They took the IQ-test before the broadcast and when they were still "clean".
Average Points IQ-test was 113

After that they started smoking weed way before the original IQ-test and even during the test.
Average Points IQ-test was 6 point higher 119

It seems when you are all relaxed and comfortable, your concentration is much better.

IQ is not how smart you are, it is how much ability you have to learn more. Dumber people ussually have a higher IQ. Becasue they dont know much so they have more room to store new information.

In my experience, alcohol is more dangerous. "Wacky ta-back-ee" is all natural. There are no added chemicals in it, it just grows naturally. I'm no pot head, but I believe it should be legal. There isn't anything wrong with it. If people can drink, people that want to toke on a "J" they should have that right.

Damn government pigs. I'm moving to Canada.

 

Because there is no way for the government to control the import/harvest so they can tax it, and besides the tobacco industry will never let an illegal superior product become legal; especially an all natural substance.
