I was turned onto fords when I got my first mustang, then got the current mustang and had an explorer for my DD. It was a good vehicle but the tranny was in rough shape and A/C was bad so I was looking for a newer truck.

Fords are much more affordable, quality vehicles, adequate power. I picked up the 2000 5.4L extended cab f150 for 11K. It's just 2wd but it has a tow package so it does what I want it to do. I love my truck!

How many of you have actually LOOKED at a Titan up close? Have any of you been under one and looked at the suspension and frame design?

I chased a ball under my truck once and looked up. I think I saw the frame... is that the fully boxed large cross-section hunk of metal that runs from front to back on each side? Huge ol' driveshaft, too.

But I my shocks aren't outboard of the frame rails, so my whole truck is junk

The Titan does have a pretty strong boxed in frame! I don't know which truck has the the stiffer frame though, but if I were to guess, I think Ford F150 might be just a little bit more stiffer, but I'm only guessing cause I don't know.?

Only way is to get one of each and test them out. That's a bit of a hassle... so why don't we settle by saying "Chevy's frame is a joke"

Nobody's frames are built as well as an f150 frame. Jap trucks included.
