Bugatti Veyron 16.4

Has anyone here heard of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4? http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/bugatti_veyron.asp 8 Litre 16 cyl. engine with 4 turbo chargers and a top speed of 250+ MPH. At a cool $1.7 million I think I'll buy 2! I had never heard of this thing before, and while I am not quite sure about the looks, that kind of power would be awesome!

Bugatti's as a general rule are rather ugly cars. The veyron is impressive, but still ugly. I'd rather take half that money and get a Maseratti MC-12, Ferrari Enzo (both based on the same engine and chasis) or a Pagani Zonda. Hell, don't think I'd miss anything over 200 mph.

something sounds fishy...
16 cyl and only displacing 488 cu in?
488 cu in with quad turbos and only 1001 peak hp?
1001 peak hp at 6K rpm is able to push 4162 lbs from 0-60 in 3 seconds?

The viper RT10
10 CYl: also 488 cu in
N/A
450 peak HP @ 5200 rpm
3410 lb curb weight
0-60 mph 4.0 seconds

over a million dollars less, spend 80-90K of that on a blower, low compression pistons, machine work. You'll get over 1020 hp. Then with the right trans gears and rear end you'll have 3 sec 0-60 and over 250 mph top end too, plus have over a million dollars left over. So you can beat it up and afford to fix it.
