I have gotten my 06 explorer stuck in my backyard. I've tried 4wd low and tried putting boards behiond the tires and it just keeps spinning. Anyone have experience getting unstuck from mud?? Please help!!! I know it's not an F150, sorry.

HELP PLEASE

try it in the 4wd high and just idle it out. If to slick try some kitty litter to increase the traction.

Try tying a rope around one of your tires. Tie the other end to your house. Put the 'sploder in gear and you can winch yourself out! Or your house in...

I have always found that if I am stuck in mud or snow that a few cat's do an excellent job of helping me to get traction...

Try cutting your tires back and forth while barely giving it enough gas to slowley spin.

Can you rock it back and forth going from drive to reverse?
If you can even slightly, then just keep rocking it like that while cutting the tires back and forth until you get enough momentum one direction or another to come out.

But sometimes, there just is not enough traction to do anything. At that time, then you need a friend to pull you out, or a come along tied to a tree.

Watch this be the last question this guy ever asks here.....

But I will suggest a tow rope, a six pack and a friend with a 4x4.....

Use the six pack as payment after success...

Good luck, and stay out of your back yard from now on...

LMAO, nice nice

For some reason I have a feeling this guy has a huge jacked up Explorer, a massive mud boggin' hole in his back yard, and is buried up to the windows. Soon he will post a picture and a comment "Sorry, kitty litter didnt work for this one, any more suggestions?"

Try some floormats.

Where are you located, if you are lucky it will get cold and freeze, so you can jack it upo and put something under the tires. Just be sure if the temps start to drop you don't leave it freeze fast in the mud, maybe spray the tires while they spin slowly with some PAM or something.

OK! Nothing worked!! I just moved in here and didn't realize I had underground springs in my backyard. Since I'm in Seattle and there's a frequent light drizzle I drove into a swamp. I was pulling it around to detail the interior and I sunk right in. It wasn't really just mud but about 8 inches of sitting water, grass and slick mud. Had I kept spinning the tires I'm convinced I would have sunk to the chassis in less than a minute. The car continued to sink further as it sat. No wonder the city just installed drainage. Thanks so much for all the suggestions!!!

I'm so hardcore I had my wife call roadside assistance and they came and pulled me out. HOW EMBARRASSING! :o

Unfortunately I didn't think to snap some pics while stuck, I was panicking about the car. I thought my wife was gonna kill me.

Finally, after a trip to the car wash, our 06 EB Exploder:
