I'm 17, and I just sold my 2000 mustang for 7000. My dad has an expedition, so we are big fans of ford. I want to buy an F150, but what do u guys recommend for 7000. I don't like the regular cab, and I want a 98 or newer. What do u guys recommend?
I recommend the F150.
I also recommend you figure out what bells and whistles you are wanting, 4x4, V6-V8, and so on. You may be in luck because the used car market is a little flooded right now. You may be able to find something quite nice(?) for the 7K. Most of all, buy a truck that’s going to be able to do what you need your tuck to do. Good luck and Welcome to the site….

What exactly are you asking us?
It sounds like you know what you want...you dont like the regular cab, so youll probably end up with the extended cab because a supercrew will be out of your range.
I would try to get a V8, the 5.4 might be out of your range, but the 4.6 is a very good engine. I dont care for the V6, but if push comes to shove it will work.
Either way, with your budget, you're gonna be pretty limited. You're going to be looking at a '97 or '98, anything newer will probably still be out of your range. And dont expect any of the frills, its gonna be pretty basic.
If you have any more specific questions, ask them

I normally avoid the 'introduction' threads since 90% of the newbies never make a second post. If I see someone around for a week I'll say hello.
But this one is pretty funny. M&M, exactly what are you asking? I suggest you find a truck for $7000, 97-98, and an extended cab. How's that?

If I were you, and I know that I'm not, I would go out and get a 1986 Bronco in good shape for a 2-3K, and then spend the rest of the money on a HiPo motor, paint job, and sound system. That, or buy a 96 Bronco in decent shape for about 6K and enjoy the last year of those bad boys until the wheels fall off.
For 7K, you're going to get junk or screwed on a newer vehicle if you can even find one.
Good luck.

Thats what i would do. even get one with a good body and not worry about the engine, just build one.
7K will get you a basic truck with high miles. If you have problems it can get expensive quick

I looked for some in autotrader and there were a couple of good ones. What is it called when the trucks have the side something. It's like the little design in the side of the body? Is that more expensive?

It's hilarious when I see that around here! Some junker with the bedsides flapping sporting some brand new 23" wheels. But it is amazing how wheels will seem to make some rust magically disappear though! My suggestion, buy a decent truck and sink that money you were going to spend on wheels, into the drivetrain instead.....you'll get much more enjoyment!
