Looks like another potato to me.


Actually WMR, what you have there is a fossil. That is coral. Actually, several different types of coral from what I can tell from your picture. Very very very very common.

Also, the term 'mineral egg' is synonymous with geode.

My son and I paid our taxes yesterday at the courthouse and found this rock display.
My girls told me to tell you thank you.
They are excited, even thou it's not a fossil.

Thanks RP. It's cool to know what I have anyhow, at least I can appear intelligent when someone says "Hey, what have you got there?" I don't have to tell them it's an Alien egg or a dinosaur brain or dino poo (yuck, thanks for that thought Tritoneer!) I can answer "Why, anybody can see that it's several different types of fossilized coral". Now don't I sound smarter already!!
