Nothin. Ive seen the commercials though, everythings looks soo good, is it?? Im gonna check out their website, see where the closest location is.

Closest location is 136 miles south. Grr.

 

Not worth a 136 mile road trip just to get.
But if you are traveling, need fast food and see a Sonic, I recomend stopping.

If you need/want breakfast then Waffle house or Ihop either one. Sonic also has a prety good breakfast menu and they serve all day, but it is fast food vs waffle house or Ihop a sit down eating place. Sonics breakfast burritos are better than McD's. IMO I think they call them breakfast wraps or something. They use to have a really good Frito wrap, with chilli, cheese, and fritos wraped in a tortila shell. Good for on the go and tasty. But last time I ordered it they denied me.

 

I just saw a commercial for the mushroom swiss melt burger, man that looked good.
We do have Ihops around here, havent been there in a long time though.

Had one last weekend. It is pretty good, but not as good as DQ's!
DQ sautees thier mushrooms and has lots of carmelized juices. Sonic had no mushroom juice, tasted like they just fried them. Tasted good just not as good, more car friendly though. You don't want to eat a DQ's Mushroom Swiss in the car, especially while trying to drive.

 

 

Just arrived home the otherday from east tennessee. Tried all trhe fast food places.
Waffle Hut is good. Gotta like those pecan waffles. Ever heard of Fat Moe's.
The drink was to big to fit in the rental F-150 consol drink holder and the one on the floor. 21 ounce beef burger. I went for the 6 ounce. Hardie has good shakes. Krystal sucked. Cracker Barrel was not bad.

Did not notice a Sonic's place.

 

I went to North Carolina two weeks ago and got to try to new ones for me.
One was a fast food itialian place in Kentucky called Fazolias (I think that
s what it's called.) I heard there is one not far from me a few towns over where we go occasionally but I had never ate at one. I love Italian food and for being fast it was pretty good.

The other we didn't run into until mid South Carolina, it was a chicken place similar to Kentucky Fried Chicken called Bojangles Chicken. There was literally one on every corner, there was more of them than McD's down there. So we decided to try it. I don't like chicken so I wasn't thrilled about it, but they had various fried steak platters. Not to bad.

 

How did this thread turn to food chains?!!!!!!

Road trips = gas stations, fast food, and tolls!

Hey now, I only spent six bucks on tolls driving from Pittsburgh to Miami.....

I ate at a waffle house across from my motel on my second day of driving on Wednesday, it was pretty good

I'm gonna try to hit a Sonic on my way back to PA next week, the ad's keep on making me drool...

BTW... you just have to travel with a CB, it saved my *** SC, GA and Florida..... even with my radar detector

Those truckers know where the smokies are and are more than happy to share with everyone.
If I dont have a radio with me, then I also watch the truckers. If I start passing a bunch of them more quickly than ussual. Then there is ussually a reason that they slowed down.
