Just traded in my Vette for an f-150...

Greetings....

Just traded my 2002 Vette in for a 2006 f-150 FX4 Supercab flareside. As an old jeeper I loved the Vette but missed the 4wd too much!

Is it wrong to order a suspension lift before taking delivery of the truck!

Looking foward to tons of info and tons of mods ideas from the forum!

Cheers.

Well... I am an IT consultant and often carry systems, ladders, etc... I had gotten away with it for 2 years but the time came that the Vetter impracticality outweighed its benefits...

I loved it but it stressed the hell out of me! Every bump or pot hole or debris in the road I would cringe... (2 inches off the ground) and driving it around I felt like a fighter pilot who could only taxi around the runway!

Oh and snow? FORGET IT! It simply did not go.

Add that to the killer deal I was offered on the truck and that they gave me close to retail on the vette as a trade in made it a no brainer.

In a couple of years I'll pick one up as a toy. But as a daily driver its too stressful!

Welcome,
You can learn anything you could possiably ever hope to know here.
Several things you wish you would have gone the rest of your life with out knowing.
Oh and maybe one or two things about your truck too.

Hang on to your wallet this place will spend your savings faster than a woman.

But.... you'll never regret it! It will also save you more time & money than you can count too.

Shouldn't traded the vette. The Vette and the F150 gives one the high up (F150) and low down(vette) feel of both driving worlds.

I own a 88 RX7 Turbo II, real low to the ground, and supension tuned tight. When I get out of my F150 and get in my RX7, it is a different world. I hit corners like it is on rails. When I get in my F150, I am high up, riding on a cloud, smooth over the bumps, quietnees, and a different atmosphere.

IMO, the Vette and the F150 would have been like having to super fine ladies, servicing you in different ways. End result, driver be in heaven!!

Never let anyone load anything over the side of your truck bed. I'm overly **** about that and I think everyone should be!...

You'll love the truck. It doesnt have a corvette engine in it, but its upgradeable.

Want performance and a truck?
Consider the lightning.

Almost two years with mine , I still think it is a great truck.

Been driving a 06 F-150 4x4 the last 3 weeks. A little under powered but a nice truck.

Welcome to the forums.
