My body tempurte is 96.7 WTF ??

Since yesterday i dont feel well, bad headaches in my forehead then later night i got headache/pain in my head in back..

i checked temp body and it read below 98.6*. mines body read at 96.8 or so...should i worry about it ??

I couldnt figure it out why my body temp was low than 98.6...I repeat check in an hour it read about the same...97ish too..

Whats it possibly ??

Thanks!

98.6 degrees is an AVERAGE for the human body temperature.....I know that my "normal" body temp hovers in the mid 97's

...if you are truely worried...I would schedule an appointment with your doc....or you could check out WebMD

There is always slight thermometer error as well, might be plus/ minus 1 degree.

Worst part about WebMD is people self diagnosing.....my wife was convinced she had an enlarged prostate by the symptoms....

also, where did you take it? You will get a different reading under the tongue vs under the armpit vs the ear vs the bum.

didn't u ever take health class when u were in school?? You don't need a fever to be sick, and my body temperature hardy ever reaches the normal 98.6 unless I really am sick with a fever. when you feel better, go learn a thing or two in health class

the reading could be off for any number of reasons. If it is a digital thermometer, the battery could be low. As said before, every thermometer has an error factor, usually +- 1 degree. The most common mistake is people take their temperature just after eating or drinking something. Even if you drink some water that is room temperature, it can lower the temperature in your mouth by several degrees. In order to get an accurate reading, you should wait at LEAST 30 minutes after eating or drinking anything to take your temperature unless you want to go another route.......and I don't really think you want to go that route
