I was sitting here earlier this evening, and kept hearing sirens. Most of them shutting off in what seemed like my driveway. So, I go out, and see that they're gathered in the street in front of my house, and around the corner. Looked like 2 ambulances, a fire & rescue truck a couple police cars and the fire chief. I live at the end of a T in the road. It looked like they were in front of a friend's house who lives three down on the T. I kept seeing something behind the trees, but couldn't tell if it was Christmas lights or what, so I walk out into the drive, and the 2nd house down the T is burning around the chimney. I stood there for a minute (freezing) until they put out the fire on the roof, and just as the big ladder truck showed up. About that time they were heading into the open garage with a hose.

I didn't want to get in the way, and it was cold, so I came back inside. Didn't see anything on the news. I'll have to talk to my friend next door to that place, and see what happened. It really sux that anything like this would ever happen, but especially this time of year...

 

That's too bad. Hope no one was hurt.

 

chimney fires suck. Many people don't understand enough about how stuff burns and they do stupid stuff to create chimney fires. It still sucks that their home was ruined.

 

Wow, it's always sad when someone loses their house to a fire.

 

I've never had a house with a chimney but know that fires blow no matter what. Hope your friend is ok.
