Could go either way.

I've bought tickets for a show Elton John (In-laws) in NYC and the seller was willing to ship them straight to Pennsylvania where the tickets needed to go, Sporting events in various cities if I'm travelling for work (most recently the Chargers), and sometimes local concerts if I didn't hear about them quick enough to get tickets.

Probably sixty or so transactions and I've only been shafted once. That was for a Billy Joel concert that coincided with my travel plans.

I've had numerous good experiences with Ebay purchases... tickets were good for my Fins and Atlanta a while back. Go for it...

I bought two Rob Thomas tickets a few weeks ago. The guy had bought the tickets for his daughter, but she couldn't go. Before I bid on tickets, I usually send the seller an email first to make sure he or she is legit. Check their feedback. If it's good, you should be alright.
