I have yet to get a ticket since I got my V1. It has paid for itself MANY times over. Even with the passport being a bit MORE sensative, the arrows on the V1 are priceless.

And I dont drive slow.... in my SHO Taurus that is

The truck, well, it is a cruiser... no need for a radar detector

The Valentine 1 is the best. I used to keep one on my bike because you don't even need to hear it. V1 all the way. They are expensives as far as detectors go but well worth it.

Thanks for the input guys. I was leaning towards the V1 as everyone says they rock....but I just did some searching and it seems they agree the V1 is getting a little dated. There may be better out there. (can't remember the name of the one everyone raved about.)

I love the V1. I have the remote display mounted on the steering column. I've had it about 2.5 years, prolly 100,000+ miles in 10 states: no tickets (he says while knocking on wood).

Ibought mine in 2000 or 2001 so, yes, it's getting dated but it works just as good today as it did then. I haven't had the need for a new one so I haven't looked. There could be much better out there by now. I would be curious to know what is recommended though.

[Highlander Voice] In the end there can be only ONE [/Highlander Voice]
Valentine One. It looks dated but the tron guts are up to date. The case is also smaller than a few years ago. It is smaller overall than the escort. And doesn't look like a melted pantyhose container either.
It even picks up POP radar with the latest software update.

As long as money is no object...

You can get these new-in-the-box on ebay from time to time for around $500 but get ready to do some install work!

edit: Here's one on ebay now...

I just ordered the Escort what ever the top model is. 8500 X50 I think? (Excluding the sr whatever it is 1000 dollar job) It supposedly beats out the V1 or is comparable, and is less money. It should be here thursday or friday, I'll post my thoughts then. Thanks for the input guys and gals.
