Unhappy Christmas tree

Has anyone else ever had a Christmas tree that they have hated? I hate the one we have this year. This is my first Christmas not living with my parents(I live next door, but still not with them). Well my girlfriend got a good deal on a tree last year for the after Christmas sale at the Navy Exchange for like $3.00. Started putting it up and I can see why it was so cheap. It had white lights already strung into it so we thought it would look pretty good.

WRONG!! I added some color lights to it, but right now, I am about ready to tear it down and burn the thing. This is the skinniest tree I have ever seen. It leans to the side. Half of the lights are not working correctly. There are huge gaps everywhere from where it doesn't branch out correctly. I can't have have a tree over 6 1/2' due to our short ceiling here in my house so it is hard to find another tree. I do know, I won't be using this tree again next year except for maybe on the front porch or something.

Just had to rant about this

It's three bucks and you have no emotional attachment to it yet . . .

TOSS IT!

This early in the year I can't imagine there not being small trees available.

The important thing to remember is that it ain't about the dam tree. I'd guess that your girlfriend probably bought it with love in her heart. I wonder how she feels about your b!tching about it?

In that case follow Kobi's suggestion and pitch it. Buy another one. But whining about the tree has to be the least desirable course of action and will do nothing but make everyone miserable. Unless you're into misery.

If you toss the tree you're only out $3.00. Give it to a needy family and get a better one, Christmas isn't tomorrow, you have time and there are shorter trees out there. You should be able to find one at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Sears, Lowes, K-mart...the list goes on. Check sale ads for someone selling one that would be shorter.
