My L vs my dads Vette...

Boy we would have had some fun if my L was still around!

My dad just bought a 2003 C5 corvette with 3,000 miles on it and is having a blast with it(so am I!). I've driven the dog snot out of it a few times already and believe my 03 L would "Take it" up to about 70ish. Now I wish I had my L more than ever! I jump in his Vette on the weekends and give it hell and then when I get back in my slow azz truck I feel like I'm sittin still again. I was just gettin over that feelin! My dad even admits that my L felt faster off the line than his car does, But theres no comparing top speed! I've only had it up to 152mph, But he had it up to 170mph on the turnpike commin back from Orlando last month. At 150mph I let off, Figured that was as fast as I had been up till this point in my life and I was impressed so I let off.

Oh yeah, And 150mph the ride was nice and smooth! Not like my L at 130mph was! In my L you could really feels the wind resistance, Not in his Vette.

I couldn't justify the Z06. My 06 C6 Z51 should be built this week though.

I love my L, but I've been thinking of trying something new.... I don't know what it'll be yet though. I'm just at the point where I really don't wanna sink more money into my truck, but at the same time I'm bored with it. I don't want something slower, so my options are limited...

Hey Frank, what's up man? Tried to call you on Friday to see if you were going to Towers, left a message but did not hear back from you. There were around eight L's that showed up and we all had a good time.

Guess what? If you miss your L so bad Robbie said he is selling his badazz L with everything on it including that custom NOS fiberglass enclosure with lights. Also Ray dumped his srt-10 and is back in an L, he got a 2004 with only7000 miles on it. He only had it three weeks and already has all the bolt ons.

Give me a call and I'll give you more details.

Later......Bert.....DA BOLT.

Hmmmm, we just got back from Disneyworld couple weeks ago and was watching tv one night while in the room there and scrolling across the bottom of the screen it said the FHP was looking for a vette going 130 on the turnpike!! Kinda strange to see your post and me remembering that.
Could it be????.............................

When will people learn, You have to do that stuff on the 429, not the turnpike. Much better road and lot less traffic.

I have owned a 99 C5 coupe, and recently an '04 Z06. Also owned an '03 L modified to 496/562 and now own a '99 L 400/480.

I am willing to put my next pay check on the fact that both my L's would take my Z from 0 to at least 120 mph!

The Z was a blast to drive and far out did my coupe (even though I modded my coupe to 355 rwhp). But you set our L's up for launch and add a little to the top end I would bet on the L all day long.

Agreed on the 120 mph and up, though..............

It's like taking a knife through the air compared to a brick.
