Screw You We 're from Texas-Ray Wylie Hubbard

What happened was that Ray and the band were playing a club down on the Texas coast and some obnoxious yuppies in the crowd kept yelling requests for cover tunes of Nashville artists. Ray explained to them that they were a Texas band and played songs that he had written, they did not do cover tunes. The two guys just kept on yelling between songs. So at intermission, Ray wrote this song. The lyrics are pretty funny.

My Home Town - Charlie Robison

"I'll see you in Houston, if I ever get out that way.
I'll see you in Dallas, but I won't have long to stay.
If you're ever out west son, and you feel like slowin' down,
I'll see you around, 'round my home town."

Hey, that is a great song. I assume you know his home town is Bandera. Obviously you are into the Americana and Texas music, also. There is a neat place at Sring where a lot of these guys play. Potbellys or Puffabilly's, some weird name like that.

Yep - I knew Charlie was from Bandera. I actually think his brother, Bruce, is a better songwriter, although Charlie has had more commercial success.

Never been to that place in Spring, but the Texas singer-songwriters are always coming through town at one venue or another.

I definitely agree that Bruce is the better writer.
