Not really a patriotic point of view, and maybe I'm the only person that sees this, but I feel like the 'japanese' car (I'll generalize for this point, since there is no "true" japanese car anymore) lack a lot of what the traditional auto makers have in the detail and overall feel of a vehicle. I find that if I open a Toyota highlanders door and it wobbles like jello, versus a Ford in the same class whose door feels solid and the materials used feel more durable..that the Ford wins the fit and finish category and that's important to me. So when referring to this vehicle as a Ricer, I'm not attempting to degrade my MI and MS neighbors and the jobs they perform, just putting my spin on the fact that the vehicle still 'feels' like it's predecessors of previous years as a cheaply designed and made vehicle.
