I have the Panasonic PV-GS250. It's a Mini-DV camera with 3 CCDs for great color. It takes great movies and also has 3.1 MP still capability using SD memory.

It's light weight makes it very easy to use.

The Mini DVD only captures 1/2 hour of video. I hear dual layer is coming out soon for 1 hour.

The Sony's have a touch screen that is kinda soft and doen't seem it would hold up over time.

The GS250 has fastest re-focus time when changing from short to long distances, vice versa, that I could find. No specs just trial and error while trying out various other cameras.

I have no regrets with this camera whatsoever.

Good Luck on your choice.

you guys kill me.

Sorry, I almost forgot about this thread...i'm such an idiot sometimes. Anyway, ive been looking at a few different cameras and just cant make up my mind. I don't want to put myself through what I went through trying to pick out my Digital SLR camera, I made myself sick trying to pick out the perfect one. So I decided to just keep looking for now and wait until after christmas. I dont NEED, this camera, I just want one. So im not gonna make a quick purchase and then regret it in a month or two. I'll let you guys know what I end up with when I do finally get it. Thanks for all the help. As always, you guys rock

Oh, Matt...I have a tree out back

I've been looking at the JVC Everio. I don't know much about it yet. It has it's own hard drive... or something.

That sounds like you are now regretting the D50?

Pleeeease send me a start of that tree with the funnel!
I'd pay you but you already have all you need on your tree. LOL
So soon as my start grows and starts producing, then I'll fly over and we'll put a fireplace in your house.

NO NO NO...I LOVE my D50. I just made myself sick for about 4 months trying to decide which one to get. And then, the last few weeks of that long thread about what camera I shoud get, just fried my brain. I deff. made the right decision on my D50. I wouldnt change that for anything. Its just woth Christmas coming, issues at work, and the stress of my vibrating truck, I dont think my brain could handle another big decision like this one. You see, I used to just buy whatever I wanted, right when I seen it, and more often than not...not that I would regret it..but I would just think back and realize I didnt need to spend the money for something thats now sitting in the closet*cough* gas powered remote control Lamboghini*cough* $700*cough* So now, I take my time on buying things. It seems to work better. I dont have a whole lot of junk laying around anymore..Although I do have a brand new GPS unit sitting here I'm not using

And about my tree...sorry. It only grows in Jersey sand
