I hate people, specifically the average American

I'm sick and tired of watching my 'fellow' countrymen vote away their tights and demand more and more government intervention into MY private life. They trade MY freedom for the illusion of security and it pizzes me off to no end. Freedom was not free and the price of it is eternal vigilance, not eternal government pandering to the paid voters (Welfare recipients). As of late our government has grown out of control. It's huge, bloated with pork barrel projects, inefficient and thanks to such wonderful programs as Affirmative Action, 'Gender norming', et al we have large numbers of people who are wholly unqualified to hold their positions, but due to the skin color, gender, religious, and or lineage are granted positions. I absolutely despise this practice. You don't reward mediocrity or celebrate 'diversity', you fire those who can't or won't pull their weight and you reward excellence.

Both of our two main political parties in the US are so much the same that it’s ridiculous. Neither stands for what either once stood for. They both have liberals and conservatives in them. To define a Democrat or a Republican is an exercise in futility. Of the various other parties out there, they all have some glaring philosophical differences that I can not reconcile, not that I want to be a member of ANY political party. All politicians from the moment they take office seem to work towards one goal, getting reelected. Isn’t that special? It’s called public service, but in reality it’s public control. There ought to be term limits on all offices and while we’re at it we should revive the ancient Roman practice that once your time in office is up, you go on trial and mush answer and account for all of your actions. That would never happen today because personal responsibility is taboo. It’s always someone’s fault, but never the one who perpetrated the action(s).

Our schools teach all kinds of ridiculous stuff and the standards of performance are pathetic. Basically it comes down to this. Our country is rotting from the inside out. Our public education system is a government sponsored, taxpayer funded indoctrination center that cranks out semi literate graduates who become ‘functioning’ cogs in society. Schools parallel the assembly line described in Aldus Huxley’s Brave New World, with the graduates being Epsilon Semi-Morons. In short we would better served without half of the US population and I want to be director of culling.

Oh no, I understand that and the Aussie model to a lesser extent all too well. Socialism much like communism only looks good on paper. Europe is pretty well screwed, but it appears (from where I am) that most people there don't have too much of a problem with it. I dunno, but that type of lifestyle is not for me.

BlueJay,

Refer to the 'Hand cannon' thread.

I suspect it won't be too long before I move to the country, just so I have less morons surrounding me. Large cities seem to support the liberal mindset better. People out in the country are pretty much forced to support themselves because there isn't a welfare office or liberal politician on every corner to support them.

I was about to mention Vader's post count. It's been there for 4 days. I wonder how long he lasts before posting in another forum (unless he's created a second ID for that purpose).

The trouble with moving away from the problem urban areas is that sooner or later it will catch up to you. If you isolate yourself, you better make sure you can be 100% self sufficient. Maybe not now, maybe not in 20 years, but I'd bet that in 50 years, it will be next to impossible to exist "outside of the grid".
